Standard Solvents and White Spirit

White spirits or mineral spirits distillation fraction with no further treatment, consisting predominantly of saturated C9 to C12 hydrocarbons with a boiling range of 105–205 °C and a condensation range of 142-200 °C. Solvent 402 are a part of these extractions.

 

 

Turpentine Substitute, Petroleum Spirits and Paint Thinner are some other names for White Spirit. a petroleum-derived clear liquid used as a common organic solvent in painting. There are also terms for specific kinds of mineral spirits, including Stoddard solvent and solvent naphtha (petroleum). white spirit is commonly used to clean paint, to clean auto parts and tools, as a starter fluid for charcoal grills, to remove adhesive residue from non-porous surfaces, and many other common tasks. White spirit is commonly used in coatings, waxes, varnishes, adhesives, printing inks and liquid photocopier toners. In industry it is also used as a solvent for, cleaning, degreasing and substance extraction. In households, white spirit is commonly used to clean paint brushes or thin paint. This product is also used for diamond cutting and its known as "Diamond Turning"
